Maintaining bodily functions

We are made up of 70% water and most of the systems in our body are regulated by water. Therefore, drinking water is the key to maintaining our bodily functions.

What are the advantages of drinking water?
Drinking water supports your digestive system.

Water is needed to carry nutrients from the digestive system to the other parts of the body.

Gases are carried from the respiratory system to the other cells that need them e.g. oxygen that is carried to brain cells is first dissolved in water.

Drink water is good for internal cleansing as water is needed to transport waste from one part of the body to another. The toxins in our body may be water soluble. Non soluble toxins need extra fluid to be carried smoothly through our colon.

What are the advantages of drinking water?
Drinking water keeps you cool, literally.
Drinking water cools you down as water regulates our body temperature. Our body cools itself by sweating and the evaporation of sweat reduces temperature. However, the loss of water through perspiration needs to be replenished by drinking water.

Drinking water has psychological effect of cooling you down. If you are feeling flustered or agitated, drink a glass of cool water one mouthful at a time, slowly. You will be surprised how effectively water can dissolve anger.
